in their words

What schools and local authorities say

"It's a great way of reintegrating and allowing them to get used to being back in the classroom, accessing the lessons, speaking to teachers"

SENCO, Moulsham High School, Essex.

"The alternative is paying for these children to go to Alternative Provision. In actual fact the use of AV1 for that time limited period is so much more effective for schools."

How Wakefield Is Transforming School Attendance with AV1

Challenge

Wakefield, like local authorities across the UK, have a statutory duty to provide education for every child, but frequently find it impossible with the funding and resources and available to them.

Solution

To ensure no child falls through the cracks, Wakefield Council adopted a joined-up approach using AV1 as the central bridge for connection.

OUTcome

Students who were not attending at all now have 100% attendance due to their use of AV1.
